In the girls’ varsity competition, Willmar finished first with 44 points, Bemidji second with 74 and Perham third with 78. They were followed by Moorhead (84), Pequot Lakes (110), Wadena-Deer Creek (160), Little Falls (185) and United North Central (204).
Pequot Lakes eighth-grader Calia Chaney won the individual title with a time of 19:36.2. Moorhead runner Taylor Melton was second with a 19:45.2 and Kira Sweeney of Wadena-Deer Creek was third with a 19:46.5.
Perham was led by eighth-grader Aspen Rohde (20:51.9) in eleventh place and freshman Mya Morris (20:55.2) in twelfth place. Freshmen Quincy Anderson (21:33.9) and Lauryn Rustad (21:35.9) came in eighteenth and nineteenth, respectively. Abby Tweeton (21:39.4) rounded out the scoring for the Yellowjackets, placing 20th. Liz Birkeland (21:45.3) was 22nd, and Emily VanWatermulen (22:45.2) was 33rd.
