With nine returning players with varsity experience the Hawley volleyball team is ready to challenge for the Heart O’ Lakes Conference title and be in the fight for the Section 8AA championship.

Third year Head Coach Jen Christofferson welcomes back seniors Paige Thompson (MH), Emily Tjaden (MH) and Kenzie Koenig (Libero), juniors Maria Vetter (OH/RH), Taylor Reep (RH) and Rudee Hockett (MH/RH), and sophomores Grace Fleming (OH), Faith Rustad (OH) and Alex Eilertson (S/RH).  Sophomore Elle Hastings (OH) and freshman Anna Steer (MH) are also in the mix.

“We have had strong finishes at our summer leagues and tournament this off season,” reported Coach Christofferson.  “The players have put a lot of time into increasing their physical strength, agility and skills.  We have a great core of nine returning players with varsity experience.  We have set a goal to finish at the top of both the conference and the section, but we have a season worth of work to do in order to get there.”

Kailee Strand, Amy Baasch and Nicole Martin will assist Christofferson.

According to Coach Christofferson, DGF will present the biggest challenge in the HOL, while Pequot Lakes and Park Rapids are the top teams in the South half of the section, and Roseau is the top contender to the Nuggets in the North half.
