The Fergus Falls girls soccer team opened their season with a 2-0 win over the Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Comets on Thursday afternoon.

The first half was scoreless, but the Otters wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the second half as Anna Anderson scored six minutes in off a corner kick from Talia Nelson.  Fourteen minutes later Maddie Boyd intercepted a pass, drove to the net and dished the ball to Piper Andrews who passed it in the net.

“This was a good first game for the girls,” stated Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “We did a lot of things well.  We still need to be a bit more assertive and anticipate where we need to be, but overall the girls should be pleased with their effort.”
