The 2018 high school volleyball season was a memorable one for Head Coach Kelly Olson and his Brandon-Evansville Chargers.  They recorded 20 wins, went undefeated (10-0) on the way to the Little Eight Conference championship and Saw first team All-Conference player Madison Quinn reach 1,000 career set assists, finishing with 1,294.  Quinn, second team All-Conference selection Sara Jacobson and two-year letter winner Megan Lauthen were all lost to graduation.

The Chargers do return senior letter winners Brittany Korkowski (Right Side Hitter, Honorable Mention Little 8), Kailee Klimek (Outside Hitter), Haddey Zastrow (Middle Blocker), Kristen Kokett (Defensive Specialist/Libero), Maddie Otto (Middle Blocker) and Boris Jacobson (Right Side Hitter/Outside Hitter), along with junior letter winners Bailey Schaefer (Outside Hitter, First Team All-Conference), Mikenna Pattrin (Middle Blocker, First Team All-Conference) and Korrie Randt (Setter/Defensive Specialist).

“We have five returning starters and four girls that worked themselves into many games, so we have a good level of experience to start the season with,” stated Coach Olson. “This team works hard and tries to get better each day.  We are looking to replace our libero and setter.  If we can find players to take those two positions, and be successful, we are hoping to be competitive each match.”

Sophomore Taylor Yeats (Outside Hitter), freshman Sydney Schaefer (Setter/Right Side Hitter) and eighth-grader Kylee Dingwall (Setter/Right Side Hitter) should also be in the mix.

Olson will be assisted by Abecca Erickson (JV, Associate Head Coach) and Kami Dingwall (C-Team).

“In Section 6A I see Henning, CGB, Wadena-Deer Creek and Park Christian School as some of the top teams,” said Olson.  “In the Little 8 it looks like Parkers Prairie and Underwood are the favorites, but most teams were young last year and with another year under their belts, any team could jump up the standings.  It should be interesting to see how things shake out.”
