Jordan Cresap is entering his third year as the head coach of the Wadena-Deer Creek girls tennis team with a very young team.  The Wolverines will be looking to replace All-Conference singles player Grace Hinojos who was fourth in the Section 8A Singles Tournament her senior year.

“We will have a young team once again,” acknowledged Coach Cresap.  “Having lost our best player to graduation, we will need to find some girls to slide on up the lineup and compete.  Grace was our only senior so our depth should be a little better from top to bottom.  We have a great group of hard working girls who are really focused on getting better day by day.  We hope to keep improving.”

Returning letter winners include seniors Kaylee Ova and Ashley Peterson, sophomores Madison Packer, Corra Endres and Kelly Muckala, and freshmen Madelyn Gallant and Kayla Meeks.

Cresap will also be looking for varsity contributions from a group including Nevada Schulz, and eighth-graders Libby Hartman, Genevieve Pinnella and KatieRae Fiemeyer.

Cresap will be assisted by Scott Endres.  He sees East Grand Forks, Perham and Crookston as Section 8A favorites, with Pequot Lakes and Perham being the top teams in the Mid-State conference.
