Area Golfers Qualify for Pine-to-Palm Championship

Several area golfers have qualified for the Pine-to-Palm Match Play Championship Tournament which is being held at the Detroit Country Club in Detroit Lakes.

 

Andrew Israelson of Fargo earned medalist honors with a two-day qualifying score of 132.  Former M State golfer Cody Cook of Hawley was fourth with a 137.  Former Fergus Falls High School and NDSU standout Keaton Lausch qualified nineteenth with a 144 and former Otter and Spartan golfer Chris Swenson, who will be entering his senior year at Bemidji State University shot a 145 to qualify 29th.  Former Perham golfer Joe Schornack qualified 41st with a 147.

 

Former Fergus Falls High School golfers Nate Longtin and Andrew MacFarlane missed out on qualifying for the championship flight but face each other in the first round of the Pine Flight.  

 

Kevin Swenson of Fergus Falls qualified third in the Mid-Am Division with a 147, and in the senior division Bob Cavanagh of Perham (74), Chad Niles of Pelican Rapids (80) and Duane Stigen of Fergus Falls (91) are all competing.

 

The 87th annual Pine to Palm Golf Tournament continues through Sunday.
