Jacey Schlosser, 2018 Ashby High School graduate, competed for the Concordia Cobber Women’s Track and Field Team for the 2018-2019 Indoor and Outdoor seasons.  A strong incoming freshmen class of throwers along with a core of veterans, led to a consistent NCAA Division III national ranking for the Cobber women.  They finished the 2018 indoor season as the #7 team nationally in the Shot Put for the Event Squad rankings by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.  The same group of student athletes concluded the outdoor season with a national ranking of #9 in Shot Put and #14 in Discus.

Schlosser continues to compete in the Shot Put and Discus events, along with learning new events including Weight Throw, Hammer Throw, and Javelin. Under the direction of head coach Marv Roeske and throws coach Brant Berghuis, Schlosser qualified to compete in both the Indoor and Outdoor MIAC Championships.  She placed third in Shot Put at both events, earning All-Conference honors.   Jacey ended the indoor season with a personal best throw in the Shot Put of 41 feet 9.75 inches landing her at #9 on the Indoor All Time Performance List.  During the outdoor season, her toss of 40 feet 11.75 inches put her at #13 on the Outdoor All Time List.

Jacey was also one of three athletes on the Concordia women’s team recognized by the USTFCCCA as earning NCAA Division III All-Academic honors during the 2018-19 track & field seasons.
631 women qualified nationally by meeting the following requirements:
•       The student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
•       Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
•       Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.

Schlosser is an Elementary Education major at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and looks forward to beginning another season of track and field for the Cobber’s in the fall.
