Hurricanes End Regular Season as Countryside League Champs

The Fergus Falls Hurricanes complete their Countryside League Championship season on Saturday with a 7-5 loss to the New York Mills Millers.  The ‘Canes will receive a first round bye in the Region 16C Playoffs which start on Saturday in Pelican Rapids.  They will play the winner of the Alexandria/Long Prairie game.  Click here for the Region 16C bracket.

On Saturday, New York Mills scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to overcome a 5-3 deficit.  Mason Roberts (2-4, 2B, 2R, RBI), Brandon Kupfer (2-4, 2R, 2B, 3RBI) and Tyler Patron (3-5, 32B, 3RBI) led the Millers offensively.  Patron threw four scores innings of relief to earn the win, striking out three batters and allowing only two hits.

Leaders for Fergus Falls were Tosten Mann (2-5), Austin Stanislawski (2-3, 2R, BB) and Eric Salvesen (3-4, R, 2RBI).
