The Community of Perham will be holding a Summer Block Party on Friday, June 28 beginning at 3:00pm in the Arvig Parking Lot across from St. Henry’s Church.  All proceeds will go to the Brave Like Gabe Foundation in honor of the late Gabe (Anderson) Grunewald, who recently passed away after a long battle with cancer.  Gabe was a state champion track and cross country runner for Perham, who also had a very successful career at NDSU and as a professional runner.  More information on the foundation can be found at www.bravelikegabe.org.

Here is the lineup for Friday:

3:00pm – 1.405 mile run, followed by food, drinks and yard games in the parking lot.
5:30pm – Music by Erin Anderson
7:30pm – Music by Patrick Murphy

The Summer Block Party has been developed to provide recognition for Perham Area Youth Hockey Association, share in the support of the BraveLikeGabe efforts and share in her legacy and take in Patrick Murphy's Wiley Wallaby Summer Tour event here in Perham.  Patrick's performance at our Summer Block Party is part of Patrick's Wiley Wallaby 2019 Tour presented by KLN, United Community Bank, Western Products and Homecrest Outdoor Living.

Food and drinks will be provided by The Cactus and Papacitos Burritos.

Tuesday, June 25, which would have been Gabe’s 33rd birthday, was proclaimed “Gabriele Grunewald Day” in the State of Minnesota by Governor Tim Walz.  A 1.405 mile run honoring Gabe was held in Minneapolis on Tuesday evening.
