Breckenridge Post 53 Makes it 3 Wins in a Row

Breckenridge American Legion Post 53 ran their winning streak to three in a row with a 16-7 win over Pelican Rapids on Wednesday night.

Post 53 jumped on the board early scoring 7 runs in the top of the first which set the tone for the rest of the game. Breckenridge picked up 13 hits in the game but also drew 11 walks from the Pelican pitching staff. Tommy Hiedeman and Jack Aigner led with 3 hits apiece followed by Carter Haugen with 2 hits on the night. All 16 player dressed for the game participated and played in a role in the victory. Emmitt Vig did a great job at short stop and Jeremy Stack pitched 2 1/3 innings and threw extremely well for Post 53.

Post 53 is scheduled to play Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Wahpeton tournament. They have Monday off and then play 5 more games in the next 4 days next week.

“We will need all the pitching we can get going forward so it was great to see Jeremy throw so well,” commented Head Coach Kevin Hiedeman.
