Breckenridge American Legion Post 53 added another one to the win column with a 4-0 defeat of Parkers Prairie in Minnesota Lakes Conference play on Tuesday night.

Carter Haugen started on the mound and helped Post 53 record their second shutout in a row. Haugen threw a complete game striking out 6 batters, giving up 5 hits and, like Mitch Porter the night before, only walked one batter, which was key.

“This was one of the better outings Carter has had all year,” reported Breckenridge Head Coach Kevin Hiedeman. “He threw his curve ball more often and for strikes and really kept the hitters off balance.”

Post 53 was able to muster 10 hits led by Brayden Wahl who had 2 hits and 2 RBI on the night. Mitch Porter continues his hot streak, also picking up 2 hits and one RBI. Jeremy Stack had 2 hits, one a deep double, and a bunt single that scored a run on a Parkers throwing error.

In the Junior Legion game, Post 53 picked up their second win in a row defeating Parkers 15-1 in 5 innings.

Post 53 travels to Pelican Rapids on Wednesday for a 7:00pm start.
