Perham lefthander Noah Rooney struck out eleven batters in five innings and the Perham Yellowjackets remained undefeated in the Section 8AA baseball playoffs with an 8-3 win over East Grand Forks on Tuesday at Al Krueger Field at Tuffy’s Stadium in Perham.

The game was tied at 3-3 when Perham struck for four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Sam Still had a double and three runs batted in to lead the Perham offense.  Carter Mulcahy, Dawson Stevens, Josh Jeziorski, Michael Benke, Chayse Solberg, Kaleb King and Rooney all contributed RBI’s for the Yellowjackets with King and Rooney each scoring a pair of runs.

Benke threw two innings of one-hit relief to close out the game.

Perham will host the championship game on Thursday at 2:30pm against the winner of the 12:00pm game between East Grand Forks and Wadena-Deer Creek.  If Perham were to lose that game, there would be another contest that would take place on Friday at 4:00pm to decide the Section 8AA champion.
