Hurricanes Win Mike Johnson Memorial Tournament

Fergus Falls banged out fifteen hits on Sunday afternoon as they recorded an 8-3 victory over the Raymond Rockets to win the championship of the Mike Johnson Memorial Tournament in Morris.  The Hurricanes also capitalized on four Raymond errors.

Winning pitcher Pete Gaustad went four innings, struck out one, walked four and allowed one hit.  Sean McGuire (3IP, 2K, 3BB, 4H, 3ER) earned the save in relief.

McGuire (3-5, R), Tosten Mann (3-4, R, RBI), Gaustad (2-3, 2B, R, RBI) and Dan Revering (3-4, 2B, 2R, RBI) were the offensive leaders for the Hurricanes.

Jose Rosario (2-4, R) and John Sawatzky (1-2, BB, 2B, 2RBI) led the Rockets at the plate.  The Rockets loaded the bases in the seventh but a strikeout ended the game.  They also had the bases loaded with two outs in the third and fourth innings, but did not score.

Fergus Falls improves to 6-0 and will host the Dent Wildcats on Friday, June 7 at 3:30pm at American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park in Fergus Falls.
