Ellie Johnson of Pelican Rapids placed seventh (102-93-195) and Grace Nyhus of Ottertail Central was ninth (96-103-199) in the Section 6A Girls Golf Meet on Thursday at Perham Lakeside Golf Course. Both girls qualified for the State Class A Tournament by being among the top five golfers not members of the winning team, which was Park Christian School.
The Falcons won the meet with a score of 679 (331-348) and Pine River-Backus was second with an 808 (408-400). Third place went to Ottertail Central with an 842 (424-418) and Pelican Rapids recorded a score of 917 (452-465) to finish in fourth place.
Medalist honors went to Emily Doeden of Park Christian (75-76-151) and her teammate Emily Stueland was runner-up (86-89-175). The top four golfers were from Park Christian School. Amy Jacobson (83-94-177) and Amanda Strom (87-94-181) were third and fourth, respectively.
Other individual qualifiers were Justine Day (97-86-193) of Walker-Hackensack-Akeley-Laporte, Bella Netland (108-94-202) of Pine River-Backus and Hannah Barchus (104-98-202) of the Tigers.
