10U Otters Sweep OTC

The 10u Otters traveled to Underwood on Thursday, May 30 for a doubleheader against the Ottertail Central Bulldogs and came away with a sweep, winning 15-3 and 11-7.

In the first game, the Otters jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one with Caleb Fronning, Brody Krein, Jacob Jenc, and Tanner Donaghue all scoring. The Otters tacked on one more in the second with Kadyn Zender getting hit by a pitch and coming around to score. The third inning saw more scoring from the Otters as Fronning, Krein, Jenc, Donaghue, and Kellen Funkhouser all scored. The young Otters put the game away in the 4th with Benett Thielke, Josh Horgen, Fronning, Nolan Felstul, and Brody Krein all scoring. The Otters got strong pitching performances from Horgen, Thielke, and John Abrahams. Felstul belted a three-run home run in the game and Krein singled and tripled. Jenc, Donaghue, Funkhouser, Abrahams, and Thielke all singled in the game as well.

In the second game, Fronning led off the first with a solo homerun. The Otters tacked on 5 more runs in the second with Donaghue, Funkhouser, Abrahams, Zender, and Horgen scoring. The Otters scored five more runs in the game with Krein, Luke Johnson, Donaghue, Zender, and Fronning wrapping up the scoring. The Otters were led at the plate by Fronning (HR), Felstul (1b), Krein (2b), Johnson (2b), Zender (1b), Levi Budke (1b), and Horgen (3b).

“I am proud of the way the boys hit the ball today. Everyone in the lineup had at least one hit,” said coach Chad Felstul.

The Otters improved their season record to 9-1. The 10u Otters look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday in Alexandria.
