The Ottertail Central Girls and Boys Track and Field teams participated in the Section 6A meet on Thursday in Fergus Falls, qualifying three individuals and three relay teams for the Class A State Meet on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 at Hamline University in St. Paul.
The OTC girls qualified Jorja Gabrielson second in the 800 (2:22.57) and Grace VanErp second in the triple jump (36-04.25). The 4 x 200 relay team of Erika Heibel, Brooke Hovland, Kylie Frederick and Grace VanErp qualified as Section champions (1:48.25), as did the 4 x 400 relay team of Hovland, Gabrielson, VanErp and Frederick.
Nick VanErp qualified in two events for the boys, winning the long jump (21-09.50) and finishing as runner-up in the 200 meter dash (22.64). The Bulldogs also qualified by placing second in the 4 x 800 relay (8:14.82) with the team of Thomas Himmelspach, Eli Carlson, Brady Scholten and Brennan Amundson.
