Section 6A Boys Golf Tournament Completes Day One at Perham Lakeside

Pine River-Backus and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley-Laporte are dead even after the first round of the Section 6A Boys Golf Tournament.  Both teams came in with scores of 335 at Perham Lakeside on Wednesday.  Ottertail Central is third with a 343 and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy is fourth with a 348.

Brady Raph of Pine River-Backus was the first day medalist with a 71.  Alex Iverson of Park Christian School shot a 75 to finish second.  Ottertail Central had Noah Chase come in third with a 78 and Jackson Nyhus finish fourth with an 80, tied with Logan Arndt of Walker-Hackensack-Akeley-Laporte.

Seth Schreiber of Breckenridge is seventh with a day one score of 83.

Hillcrest was led by John Vall with an 85, good for tenth place, and Logan Disabella in a tie for eleventh place after shooting a first round score of 86.  Joel Quam’s 88 puts him in fourteenth place and Mike Vall is tied for sixteenth after firing an 89.  Ben Christenson (98) and Nick Foss (99) round out the Hillcrest scoring.

Underwood is led by Trevor Swonger (88) in a tie with Quam for 14th and Canaan Kugler with an 89, putting him in a tie for sixteenth place.

Drew Young of OTC is tied for nineteenth place after a 90.  Noah Kapenga of Pelican Rapids also turned in a 90, while Logan Petznick shot a 91 and is tied for 22nd place.  McHale Korf is in a tie for 26th place after shooting a 92 on Wednesday.  Parker Fraki (95) and Carter Dilly (96) of OTC sit in 28th and 30th place, respectively.
