Game two of the postseason was a disappointing one for the Fergus Falls baseball team. Six fielding errors led to two big innings for the Alexandria Cardinals as they handed the Otters a 10-0 loss on Wednesday.

Carter Stockert held the Otter hitters at bay only allowing two hits while striking out five. Cole Fronning and Brock Kotschevar were the only two hitters to collect base hits. Fronning started on the mound and took the loss. He allowed six runs (2 earned) on 5 hits. He didn’t walk any batters and he struck out 3. Ashwin Stratton gave up 4 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits. He walked one and struck out 3. Michael Maanum pitched the last inning. He gave up 1 run on 1 hit. He didn’t walk any batters and struck out 1.

“You can’t give a good team like Alexandria any extra outs,” lamented Head Coach Kevin Pearson of Fergus Falls. “We did today and they took advantage.”

The Otters will now play on Tuesday at 11:00am at St. John’s University in an elimination game in the Section 8AAA playoffs.  Their opponent will be determined on Thursday when Detroit Lakes faces Bemidji.
