Lady Vikings Compete in Sub-Section Track and Field Meet

Pelican Rapids finished fourth out of nine teams at the sub-section 30, Section 6A Girls Track and Field meet on Thursday in Barnesville, scoring 87 points.  The host Trojans won the event with 160.5 points, Frazee was second with 118 and third place went to Park Christian School with 101.5 points.

Tatianna Wiley won the 400 meter dash (59.11) and the lady Vikings also took first place in the 4x400 relay (4:06.86) with the team of Maddie Guler, Abby Syverson, Anna Stephenson and Chloe Paulson.

Wiley was second in the 200 meter dash (26.98) and Tori Stephenson was runner-up in the 300 meter hurdles (51.17).

The Vikings 4x100 relay team (55.39) of Guler, Chloe Miltich, Anna Stephenson and Larissa Seifert placed third.  Abby Syverson finished third in the 800 meter run (2:26.00).

Fourth place finishers for the lady Vikings included Mackenzie Thornton in the 300 meter hurdles (51.42), Chloe Paulson in the 800 meter run (2:28.12) and Riley Berg in the high jump (4-10.00).

Thornton placed fifth in the 100 meter hurdles (18.04) and Adriana Torres was fifth in the discus (95-11).

The top four individual qualifiers in each event move on to the Section 8A meet, along with four wildcard qualifiers from all four of the sub-section meets.  All ties for the fourth best wildcard spots move on.  The top two relays in each sub-section advance, along with two wildcard relays from all four sub-sections.
