Barnesville Girls Host Sub-Section Track and Field Meet

The Barnesville girls track and field team score 160.5 points to finish first in the sub-section 30, Section 8A meet on Thursday in Barnesville.  Second place went to Frazee with 110.  They were followed by Park Christian School (101.5), Pelican Rapids (87), DGF (79), United Clay-Becker (75), Fertile-Beltrami (46), Ada-Borup (28) and NCE/Ulen-Hitterdal (4).

The Trojans had three champions as Elora Passa won the discus (101-02), Jordan Tschumperlin was first in the high jump (5-03.00) and Samantha Passa was the triple jump (35-03.50) winner. 

Lindsey Rotz was runner-up in the 800 meter run (2:24.02), Tschumperlin was second in the triple jump (33-02.00) and Kya Anderson took second in the shot put (32-03.00).  The 4x100 relay team (53.21) of Emily Smith, Sydney Rustad, Kaitlyn Leverson and Belle Peterson, and the 4x800 relay team (11:00.72) of Kenadee Gray, Emily Bredman, Hadley Pearson and Mya Askegard also ended up in second place.

The 4x200 relay team (1:52.81) of Mathea Jablonsky, Leverson, Rustad and Emily Schoenecker, and the 4x400 relay team (4:10.14) of Schoenecker, Grace Schindler, Samantha Passa and Rotz both finished in third place.  Individual third place finishers for the Trojans included Rotz in the 1600 meter run (5:32.81), Claire Meyer in the 300 meter hurdles (51.27), Pearson in the 3200 meter run (13:10.80) and Smith in the long jump (15-10.75).

Taking fourth place were Sydney Ahles in the 3200 (13:12.25), Meyer in the triple jump (32-04.00) and Tessa Herman in the shot put (30-09.25).

Fifth place went to Schoenecker in the 400 meter dash (1:02.52) and the long jump (15-02.25), and Rustad in the 200 meter dash (28.21).

The top four individual qualifiers in each event move on to the Section 8A meet, along with four wildcard qualifiers from all four of the sub-section meets.  All ties for the fourth best wildcard spots move on.  The top two relays in each sub-section advance, along with two wildcard relays from all four sub-sections.
