The Fergus Falls Otter Girls Golf Team hosted their CLC meet for the year at Pebble Lake Golf Course on Thursday, finishing fifth out of eighth teams with a score of 363.  Brainerd won the team title with a 318, Alexandria was second at 324, Willmar third at 354 and Sartell-St. Stephen with 360 points.

“The girls played great,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “Greta Christenson shot an 88 and has become a team leader in both her dedication to practice along with her consistent scores.  Mady Eklund had a breakout night posting her all time low score of an 89.  She has been working so hard and has been so close to posting a number like this and she continued to believe in herself and she accomplished her goal.  Amy Johnson's 91 is impressive as she continues to hit the ball so well.  When she goes low nobody on the team will be surprised.  Ellia Soydara gave us another score that we can use and at any time she has the ability to post a number in the 80's.  Ella Mayer and Sydney Thacker both played well tonight shooting 100 and 108 respectively.

Medalist honors went to Alexandria eighth-grader Hannah Boraas with a 76.  Brainerd won four other medals with Anna Krieger second with a 78, followed by Abby Pohlkamp (79), Izzy Olson (80) and Sophie Karsnia (81).  Greta Christenson placed sixth with her 88.

“I am so proud of these girls,” added Jurgens.  “They work so hard at both their academics and then out at the golf course and we are seeing results at the perfect time.  We are looking for controlled rounds that give us consistent numbers that we can count on. This is our low team score of the year and I could not be happier for the girls!”
