Trevor Swonger of Underwood fired a 73 to claim medalist honors on Monday at the Quad County Conference Boys Golf Meet at Tipsinah Mounds in Elbow Lake. Hillcrest won the team title with a 319, ten strokes better than runner-up Ottertail Central (329). Underwood was third with a score of 355.
"Trevor has had a few top five finishes this year and really came out today determined to shoot in the 70's and it was nice to see him accomplish that," said Underwood Head Coach Chuck Ross. "Canaan Kugler also helped us place third out of ten teams by finishing fifth with an 81."
Rounding out the scoring for Underwood were Logan Frigaard with a 92 and Bryce Jorgenson with a 109.
"Logan and Bryce are getting better as the year goes on and hopefully can help us compete next Monday at the conference tournament," added Ross.
Jackson Nyhus of Ottertail Central finished third with a 77, Mike Vall of Hillcrest was fourth with a 79, Kugler was fifth with his 81 and Drew Young of OTC claimed the sixth place medal, also with an 81.
