Greta Christenson fired an 85 on Monday to lead the Fergus Falls girls golf team at Blackberry Ridge in Sartell.  Christenson tied for fourth place individually with Ciara O’Connor of Alexandria and Kristin Martens of Sartell.  Hannah Boraas of Alexandria was the medalist with an 80, Anna Krieger of Brainerd was runner-up with an 81 and Aisling O’Connor of Alexandria was third with an 82.

“Greta played another phenomenal round of golf today,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “She has a new norm and that's expecting to break 90 every time out and mid 80's are now her comfort zone.”

Ellia Soydara (97), Mady Eklund (99) and Amy Johnson (104) rounded out the team scoring.  Sydney Thacker turned in a 115 and Piper Andrews a 133.

“Ellia and Mady gave us decent scores,” reported Jurgens.  “Both feel like they should have scored better. They are really close to a breakout round.  Amy played 15 solid holes. Unfortunately she combined a couple bad swings and a couple bad breaks on the last three holes and she was frustrated.  Amy is also very close to a breakout round.  Sydney and Piper got to play a beautiful course on a beautiful day and gain experience as this was Pipers first varsity meet.”

Alexandria won the team title with a 333.  Brainerd was second with a 360, followed by Sartell (365), Willmar (383), Fergus Falls (385), Rocori (424) and St. Cloud Apollo/Tech (535).
