Ottertail Central jumped out to an early lead on Monday, however, the Parkers Prairie Panthers came back to post a 10-6 win over the Bulldogs.

The game was tied at six when Preston Yohnke doubled home a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Yohnke led the Panthers with four hits.  Alex Koep (2IP, 4K, 0BB, 0H) was the winning pitcher.  Starting pitcher Josh Helling allowed eight hits and six runs over five innings, striking out nine batters.

The Bulldogs had eight hits on the day with Drake Larsen and Dylan Trana contributing two hits each.  Larsen (5.1IP, 7R, 8H, 7BB, 8KK) took the loss on the mound.

“Drake worked really hard today,” said Head Coach Ryan Hendrickson of OTC.  “He went deep into the game throwing the state max of 105 pitches.  We have to credit Parkers for staying patient and putting the bat on the ball when they had to.  Drake battled a tough team tonight and he leads us both on the mound and at the plate.  The kid is a fighter.  Both Drake and Parkers deserve lots of positive credit.”

The Bulldogs will play five conference game this week.  They travel to Menahga on Tuesday, play two games at New York Mills on Thursday and Friday is senior night at Henning versus Wadena-Deer Creek.

“I challenged the boys at the end of today,” said Hendrickson.  “I really think we will stay focused and come to battle this week.  This week and next week are really important.”
