Yellowjackets Beat Barnesville Twice

The Perham Yellowjackets posted a pair of victories over Barnesville in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference baseball double header on Thursday.  Perham won 3-2 in the first game and then defeated the Trojans 11-5 in the nightcap.

Dawson Stevens (7IP, 6H, 2ER, 3BB, 8K) and Finn Diggins (1IP, 8H, 1K) combined on the mound for the victory.  Offensive leaders for the Yellowjackets were Maddux Kovash (2-5), Carter Mulcahy (0-3, RBI, BB), Stevens (1-3, BB, 2B), Max Tostenson (1-4, R), Michael Benke (0-2, 2R, BB) and Chayse Solberg (1-2, RBI, 2BB).

Matt Samuelson (2-4), Adrian O’Brien (2-3, RBI, BB) and Sam Askegaard (1-3, R) led the offensive attack.  Caleb Ott (7IP, 6H, 2ER, 4BB, 3K) kept the Trojans in the game.

Perham collected ten hits in game two and capitalized on six Barnesville errors.  Mulcahy (2-3, 2RBI, 4R), Kovash (2-4, RBI, R), Noah Rooney (1-2, RBI, R, BB), Sam Still (1-3, 2R, 2BB) and Steve Lindbergh (2-4) were the hitting leaders.  Benke (6IP, 3H, 3ER, 3BB, 3K) was the winning pitcher.

Barnesville was led at the plate by Jackson Wahl (2-4, 2B), Samuelson (1-3, R), Adrian O’Brien (0-2, 2BB, 2R), Matt Haugrud (1-3, RBI) and Connor Morse (0-2, 2R).
