Brandon-Evansville scored in five of the seven innings of their game against West Central Area on Monday as the Chargers handed the Knights a 7-1 setback in Barrett.

The Chargers got on the board in the first inning when Tanner Bitzan doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring Marshall Riedel.  They added another run later in the inning on an RBI bunt by Tony Schaffran.  B-E added a run in the second inning on a passed ball, then went up 4-0 in the fourth inning when Jesse Perleberg singled and scored on Corbin Olson's RBI hit.  In the fifth the Chargers plated two more runs with the help of a Gaven Jacobson double and a 2-run single by Olson.  Zach Haugen toed the rubber for Brandon-Evansville, allowing one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking zero.

"We had a balanced attack tonight offensively as the entire lineup was able to find some success," said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Brian Perleberg.  "We swung the bats pretty good and were able to move runners around effectively.  Zack Haugen turned in a dandy performance on the mound, throwing five innings of shut out ball and only allowing one hit.  Zack was mixing his pitches well and hitting his spots.  He looked confident and composed all game long."

Brandon-Evansville (7-2) will travel to Border West on Thursday for a Pheasant Conference double header with the Buccaneers and then travel to Hancock on Friday.
