The Ashby softball team was shutout by Browerville on Friday, 12-0, as the Arrows struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Tigers.

Browerville got things going in the first inning when freshman Leona May homered on the first pitch of her at bat, scoring a pair of runs.  The Tigers tallied 11 hits in the game.

Anissa Heinrich had a pair of hits to lead the Arrows.  The loss went to Josey Ness who allowed 11 hits over four innings, striking out three batters.

"Simplay put, we could not get our bats going at all during this game, while Browerville was hot at the plate," stated Head Coach Autumn Aeling of Ashby.  "It was great for these girls to see a team we usually do not play and their intensity and skills as well.  Their pitcher did a great job and was faster than most we see in our conference.
