The Ashby Arrows scored 41 runs on 29 hits in a double header sweep of the Hillcrest Comets on Friday afternoon.  Ashby pitching didn’t allow a hit in a 26-0 first game victory, and a ten-run second inning led the Arrows to a 15-1 second game victory.

In the opener, Jaden Norby (3IP, 0H, 8K, 1BB) was the winning pitcher.  Miles Hoff threw two hitless innings out of the bullpen.

Noah Johnson led the Arrows with six runs batted in, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a Grand Slam home run in the first inning, an RBI single in the second and a sacrifice fly in the third.  Multiple hits were recorded by Carter Spangler, Dakota Ecker, Hunter Norby, Miles Hoff, Isaac Aufdenkamp, Ashton Ecker, Noah Johnson and Jaden Norby.

In game two, Scott Johnson showed timely hitting, driving in four runs on two home runs.  During their ten-run second inning, Carter Spangler, Noah Johnson, Torin Olson, Christian Norby, Jaden Norby and Dakota Ecker each drove in two runs.

Spangler was the winning pitcher, surrendering one run on two hits over two innings, striking out two.  Johnson threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

“Our bats were hot tonight up and down the lineup,” said Ashby Head Coach Jared Larson.  “We took the ball the other way and everyone squared the ball up.  It was nice to see some of our JV guys get some time and have success at the plate as well.”
