Tuesday, April 16 was the perfect spring night for a track meet as Ashby/Brandon-Evansville participated in the Perham Invitational. With temperatures in the sixties and no wind, track was in full swing, almost.  Small snow piles left over from the blizzard dotted areas around the track and buried the long and triple jump pits, leaving them unusable. However, all other events were on as normal.

Aanika Anderson was the lead off leg of the girls 3200m relay that placed third to start the meet. Anderson, Caitlyn Deschene, Grace Otto, and Brooke Quinn ran the relay for the first time this season in a time of 11:25.84. Anderson then ran the 400m dash in 1:05.34 and placed fourth. Deschene placed sixth in the 3200m run, but struggled with shin splints throughout the race. Cailey Schlosser competed in pole vault and tied for sixth with a jump of six feet then threw a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 29 feet 6 inches, enough to place fifth.

Cade Carlson came home with three third place ribbons. He ran the 100m dash in 11.83 seconds, the 200m in 24.30 seconds, and anchored the 800m relay running with Eli Anderson, Kobe Reiland, and Nathan Baumann. The team ran the relay in 1:43.03. Anderson also placed fifth in the 110m hurdles in 18.66 seconds. Baumann was eighth in 300m hurdles in 48.25 seconds. Wesley Siira finished seventh in the 800m run in 2:19.65. The boys 400m relay placed seventh in 51.31. Relay runners included Dierk Goeden, Derick Novotny, Morgan Storey, and Ryland Yeats. The 3200 m relay ran by Nolan Bitzan, Deklin Goeden, Sam Heeter and Abram Fossell finished in fifth place in 9:53.34. Jake Rein was fifth in high jump at 5 feet 4 inches followed by Storey at 5 feet 2 inches. Novotny and Dierk both placed in pole vault placing third and fifth respectively. Both boys jumped 7 feet 6 inches, ties are broken by misses. Michael Cochran was seventh in the shot put with a personal best throw of 35 feet 4 inches.
