The Fergus Falls boys tennis team opened their season at Alexandria on Tuesday afternoon.  The Cardinals swept all seven matches in straight sets.

“We played fairly well in spots,” said Head Coach Titus Christianson of the Otters.  “Ike Ahlgren competed well.  Declan Young and Maveric Kalenberg did some nice things together in their doubles match.  We’ll look to build on this experience.”

Ahlgren lost a couple of close sets to Alex Jost of the Cardinals, 5-7, 6-7 (2) at second singles.  At number one singles, Noah Tarczon fell to JJ Foster 0-6, 4-6. At third singles, Evan Lattimer of Alexandria defeated Matt Niblock of Fergus Falls 6-2, 6-1.

At second doubles, Young and Kalenberg lost to Zach Wosepka and Hunter Croonquist 5-7, 1-6.

The Otters will play in Sartell on Thursday and will host Bemidji and Moorhead on Monday of next week.
