Winning pitcher Marissa Callahan struck out ten batters and didn’t issue a walk in the game.
“We dug ourselves a hole early that we just couldn’t get out of,” said Head Coach Kasi Sieling of Brandon-Evansville. “Browerville is a solid, well-coached team and we gave them too many extra outs and opportunities that they took advantage of. Offensively, the girls battled until the end and put runners on. We just couldn’t get the timely hit to bring them in.”
The Chargers were led by Bailey Schaefer (2-4, 2R), Mikenna Pattrin (3-4, R) and Maddie Otto (1-3, HR).
Leaders for the Tigers were Leona May (2-4, 2R, 4RBI, 2 2B) and Callahan (1-1, 2B, 3BB, R, RBI).
