The award, named after long-time Gopher assistant coach Butch Nash, is bestowed on an ideal assistant coach who displays loyalty, competency, rapport with players and coaches, integrity, and at least fifteen years of experience.
“Curt has been an assistant coach at Underwood for twenty years and during that time I don’t ever remember him missing a practice or a game,” said Underwood Head Coach Chuck Ross. “For the past two years he has been our Defensive Coordinator and has been coaching the offensive line and defensive backs. Curt is one of the reasons Underwood football has been successful.”
