Perham Falls to Lake City in AA Third Place Contest

In what was a highly competitive third place game at Concordia University in St. Paul on Saturday, Lake City brought home the hardware with a 51-47 victory over the Perham Yellowjackets.

Lake City held the largest lead of the game with 9:46 left in the first half as they were ahead by seven points.  Perham led 43-41 with 5:52 left in the game, but a Reid Gastner 3-point field goal twenty seconds later put Lake City on top and they never trailed again.  Nathan Heise made 6-of-6 free throws and led Lake City with 23 points.  Gastner added 17.

 

Jenson Beachy led Perham with 19 points and Finn Diggins added 18.  Josh Jeziorski led the Yellowjackets with 11 rebounds, while contributing 8 points.  Perham shot 46.3% (19-41) from the field and made just 3-of-17 (17.6%) from the 3-point line.

 

Lake City made 46.2% (18-39) of their shots and 37.5% (6-16) of their treys.

 

Perham finishes the season with a record of 31-3.
