Parkers Prairie made 53.4% (29-44) of their field goal attempts and won the battle of the boards 42-25 on Thursday night as they eliminated Wheaton/Herman-Norcross by the score of 80-61 in a Section 6A boys basketball tournament game at UM-Morris.

“Fun game, we made a run and made them earn the win,” commented Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Head Coach Jordon Roos.  “Ultimately we couldn’t keep them out of the paint and off the offensive glass, even though we tried mightily to. Needed a few more shots to fall and have a well balanced attack to pull off the upset.”

Matt Thielen poured in 33 points to lead the Warriors.  He also dished out 4 assists and had 3 steals.  Zach Stueve was also in double digits with 11 points.  Stueve and Hunter Johnson led the Warriors with 4 rebounds each.  Johnson and Nick Lupkes each collected 3 assists in the game.  The Warriors shot 38.2% (12-29) from the floor.

The Warriors end the season with a final record of 8 wins and 17 losses.
