Norman County East-Ulen-Hitterdal's Broden Lien had a game high 19 points as he led the Titans to a 71-56 win over the visiting Pelican Rapids Vikings in the opening round of the section 6A north playoffs. The #3 seed Titans had a slim 26-25 halftime lead over the #6 seed Vikings, but they were able to take control in the second half and pull away for the victory.

NCE-UH had three other players in double figures as Steffen Sather had 16 points, Kale McCollum 14, and Tate Maesse 12. Pelican Rapids was led by Hayden Christenson and McHale Korf who both had 12 points.

"We did a good job of battling to stay in the game in the first half, but their inside game eventually wore us out in the second half," Pelican Rapidshead coach John Gullingsrud stated. "We gave them way too many second chance opportunities as we were unable to keep them off of the offensive glass. It is always tough when a season comes to an end, but we'd like to give our seniors Damien Britten, Hayden Christenson, Reggie Funk, and Eli Sytsma a special thanks for all they have done for our program."

The Vikings end their season with a 10-17 record while the Titans improved to 17-10 and move on to face #2 seed Mahnomen-Waubun on Saturday at Concordia College in Moorhead.
