Trojans Move on in 8AA with Comeback Win over LPGE

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle finished the first half on a 17-0 run to take a 28-13 halftime lead, however, the Barnesville Trojans rallied to win their opening round playoff game in Section 8AA by the final score of 58-49, outscoring the Thunder 45-21 over the final eighteen minutes.

LPGE shot 52% (18-34) from the floor and buried 10-of-21 (47%) 3-pointers.

Barnesville hit 43% (20-46) of their field goal attempts, making just 28% (7-25) from beyond the arc.  The Trojans did hit 11-of-14 free throws, including 5-of-6 down the stretch to secure the victory. They also forced 20 turnovers with the majority of them coming when the Trojans applied full court pressure in the second half.

Kellen Hinsz led the Trojans with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.  Adam Tonsfeldt contributed 11 points, 8 assists and 7 steals.  Hunter Zenzen added 7 points and 5 rebounds.

Barnesville (17-9) will face East Grand Forks at 4:15pm Saturday at Concordia College in Moorhead.
