The season ended for the Underwood girls basketball team on Tuesday night at Concordia College in Moorhead when Parkers Prairie recorded a 45-30 victory over the Rockets.

“We had a hard time adjusting to the change in defense in the 2nd half, fell behind and really struggled on the offensive side of the floor,” commented Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  “We were 11-56 from the field and it is going to be difficult to win any game let alone the sub-section championship with those types of stats.   We finished the season 21-6, Sub-Section runners-up and Little Eight Conference Runners-up and I could not be prouder of this group of girls.  We will miss our seniors as they move on, but I'm excited with the talent that we will have returning throughout our girls basketball program.”

The Rockets were led by Kayla Rocholl (11 points, 5 rebounds), Brooke Hovland (11 points, 6 rebounds) and Morgan Evavold (4 points, 11 rebounds).

Underwood ends the season with a 21-6 record.  Parkers Prairie will move on to the Section 6A championship game on Friday night at Concordia where they will face the Ada-Borup/Norman County West Cougars.  The Cougars advanced with a 49-46 semifinal victory over Pelican Rapids on Tuesday night.
