Minnesota High School Bowling wrapped up team competitions for the year as the Girls State Tournament, and the All-Conference Tournament were held this past weekend.

Fergus Falls Maroon had a great showing at the State Tournament on Saturday in Rochester.  The Otter girls did well in the opening pool-play round, earning the number one seed going into the elimination bracket.  Elimination bracket matches are two games, with the team with the highest total pinfall winning the match. FF Maroon got off to a good start in their opening bracket match, but couldn't hold the lead as they lost by four pins to New Ulm/St Peter/Mankato.  The Otter girls ended their season with a seven pin loss to Lake City in the consolation bracket. The team averaged 175 on the day, 10 pins over their season average. Kaitlyn Krensing (88%), Atlanta Goulet (77%), and Morgan West (75%) led the team in fill percentage.

The best of the best travelled to Owatonna on Sunday for the All-Conference Tournament.  The bowlers were tested by an extremely difficult lane condition, and good scores were tough to come by.  The Central NW conference sent two teams, neither of which made it through the pool-play round. Shakira Warta (79%) from Brainerd, and Kaitlyn Krensing (67%) from FF Maroon were team-high for the tournament.

Junior Kaitlyn Krensing was named First Team All-State, receiving her award on Sunday.  Krensing finished the season as the number five bowler in Minnesota for the 2019 Girls Season, with a fill percentage of 85.63%, and a strike percentage of 55.32%.
