Laredo Bugbee, Logan Schleske, Max Naddy, Nik Gardin, Zane Swanson, Wyatt Thorson, and Cian Buehler together compiled an 8-12 record over the two days. “Of the twelve losses, eleven of them were to place winners in this year’s state tournament,” reported OTC Head Coach Scott Hart. “Overall, the competition was good, the Bulldog wrestlers gained valuable experience to build on for next year.

Laredo Bugbee was defeated by 5th place finisher Cael Bartels of Chatfield. Logan Schleske defeated 9th ranked Joash Lord of NYA 5-3. He was defeated by fourth place finisher Taylor Defrang of Dover Eyota 4-7 and fifth place finisher Teddy Pesch of Minneota 1-6. Max Naddy defeated James Welle of Holdingford 10-4 and Skye Powers of ACGC 6-3. He was defeated by third place finisher Owen Novacek of BGM 4-9 and fifth place finisher Zach Spinks of WML 3-6. Nik Gardin was defeated by fifth place finisher Alex Borsgard by fall and sixth place finisher Marcus Otonio Dover Eyota 0-13. Zane Swanson defeated Jared Knutson of Benson 1-0. He then was defeated by first place finisher Tyler Ryan of KM 2-13 and Ben Olson of Roseau 5-9. Wyatt Thorson was defeated by 6th place finisher Nick McCabe of Caledonia by fall. Cian Buehler defeated Zach Evans GBM 2-1, Quinten Arndt of NRHE 3-0, Clayton Luthe of GMLO 3-2, and Braeden Willis of MLR 2-1. He was defeated by fifth place finisher Tanner Berghuis of ACGC by fall and third place finisher Jesse Jackson of KW by injury default.

Up next for the Bulldogs will be the 7-12 grade awards banquet held on March 24 .  It is a potluck held at the Battle Lake School, gathering at 5:00pm eating at 5:30, and awards will follow in the auditorium.
