Freshman Sydney Hovland of the M State – Fergus Falls Women’s Basketball team has been named to the MCAC All-State, First Team. Hovland, an Underwood High School graduate, averaged 17.4 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game for the lady Spartans. She also led them in 3-point field goal percentage at 30.6%.
Alexandria High School grad Brooke Heggie, a sophomore at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls was also named to the All-State, First Team.
Second Team All-State selections included freshman Janie Wunderlich from Perham, who also plays for Northland, and Central Lakes freshman Paige Wallevand, a Henning graduate.
