The Innova Industries Pee Wee B team faced off against the Park Rapids Panthers in their first game of the season on the Panther ice. There is nothing better than the crisp air hitting your face and the sharp slicing sound the blades make on fresh ice and you could tell the Otters were pumped with high energy and determination.

Griffin Babolian sailed one past the Panther goalie with a nice pass from Landon Schulz at the 9:26 mark if the first period. The Panthers answered back but a goal from Schulz off of an assist from Avery Kenyon-Woessner made sure to let them know that the Otters were in the game.

Second period was eventful in the quick goal battle from the Otters and the Panthers with some heavy penalty box time for the Otters. Brayden Nelson made the goalie spin with his goal at the 12:48 mark off of a quick shot from Wyatt Briese. Nelson again came out and skated one up unassisted to tie it up 4-4 at the 5:29 mark. Babolian and Nelson put the Otters up quickly after at the 4:28 mark. The defensive game in the second was held strong with a strong combo of lines including Bailey Danner, Davis Shol, Ian McCollough and Milton Tungseth.

Third period the Otters sealed the deal with goals from Babolian with a stealthy assist from Tungseth and another to help the Otters win their season opener with the final goal from Nelson and an assist for Babolian.

Sunday it was time to face off against Brainerd Black on home ice. The Innova Pee Wee B Otters came out ready to protect their ice. First period was all about the defensive game as the Otters tried to defend their goalie, Brady Metcalf, as much as possible. Brainerd peppered Metcalf in the first period leaving the score 0-6. Kenyon-Woessner put one past Brainerd with strong passing from Briese and Nelson. The Otters worked hard, had good communication and passing the whole game. The final goal from Babolian with assists from Schulz and Kenyon Woessner put another one on the board for the Otters but it wasn’t enough to call it a win. These Otters are already making plans for a rematch.

This team has heart and drive, they will be fun to watch grow in the coming games. The Innova Industries Pee Wee B Maroon team is coached by Ryan Tungseth, Josh Taylor and has strong dedication from players: Davis Shol, Brayden Nelson, Bailey Danner, Evan Bowman, Milton Tungseth, Ian McCollough, Griffin Babolian, Landon Schulz, Wes Carlson, Avery Kenyon-Woessner and Brady Metcalf.
