Fergus Falls PeeWee B Gold Begin Season

The Quality Circuits PW B Gold team opened its season on the road this past Saturday afternoon against the Alexandria White Team. Alexandria scored 4 goals in the opening period and never looked back. Alexandria followed with 2 goals in the second and 5 in the third to finish with an 11 goal shutout victory against the PeeWee Gold from Fergus. Ryan Nelson had 41 saves. Three penalties were called in the game, all against Alexandria.

On Sunday afternoon the Quality Circuits PWB Gold team hosted the Brainerd Blue team at the Fergus Falls Community Ice Arena. Sam Dirkman opened the scoring with 13:23 left in the first period for the PWB Gold with assists going to Luke Norgard and Gavin Goepferd. Brainerd Blue tied it up with 7:30 remaining to end the scoring in the first period.

Just 1:14 into the second period, the PWB Gold took the lead for good on a goal by Dakota Komestakes with an assist going to Hayden Dondoneau. With 10:18 remaining, Komestakes added his second goal of the game with an assist going to Dirkman. With nineteen seconds remaining in the second period, Hayden Lappegaard added the third goal of the period with an assist going to Norgard.

Dirkman opened the scoring in the third on a power play with an assist going to Goepferd with 12:22 remaining to end the scoring for the PWB Gold. Brainerd attempted a rally scoring 2 goals in the third. The Quality Cuircuits PWB Gold won 5-3. Ryan Nelson had 32 saves on 35 shots. Each team was called for four penalties in the game.

Head coach Ryan Polzin indicated after the game he was very proud of the kids for giving maximum effort from the first puck drop to the very last second.

Following an opening weekend that saw the Quality Circuits PWB Gold team finish 1-1, the team will travel to Crosby on Saturday to Play Northern Lakes B’s at 12:30 pm and the Northern Lakes B2’s at 5:00. This will be the first of three times this year the team will play multiple district games on the same day.
